There is some controversy about the High Road. Some argue it is a hidden path to unknown destinations; it is known only by the gods and the wisest, holiest and most arcane of mortal beings. Others deny that, stating the High Road is but an abandoned trail created by the trotting feet of lost sheep fleeing from the farmer town of Bakhitán, in the northern reaches of Westmarch.

The existence of Bakhitán, however, is disputed by the Three Scholars and the Imp.

An indeterminate number of Azhiria's delegates agree with neither the Scholars nor with the Imp, claiming High Road must be an entirely different thing, as is hinted in The Total Predication of Cancherbell.
