Overview[]

A conventional paladin. He can heal allies with a touch, lay about himself with a bastard sword, and doesn't lie or break the law.

Combat Tactics[]

He uses a crossbow for an opening shot at range, but that's unlikely to be accurate unless he has a lot of time to Aim. He prefers to close and kill.

In melee, he lays about himself with his bastard sword. He normally wields it conventionally, but if he needs to defend, he can instantly switch to a Defensive Grip thanks to his Grip Mastery. He can also use Grip Mastery to switch to a half-spear position if he needs to target chinks in armor or finds himself in close combat, or to set up a cross-check so he can slam a foe that is nearby but out of immediate sword range.

He is not highly skilled enough to do any special targeting most of the time, and his high cutting damage makes that unnecessary. Most blows should be aimed for the torso. As his sword parry is his best defense, he should avoid Committed, All-Out, or Move and Attack maneuvers that prevent him from parrying, and should avoid being swarmed by multiple attackers. His armor is adequate but not outstanding.

He is somewhat vulnerable to ranged attacks, as his Dodge is low and he doesn't carry a shield.

Out of Combat Abilities[]

His primary out of combat ability is the ability to heal. He can't regain fatigue as quickly as a wizard, but his faith healing works on any ally.

He doesn't have any serious in-town abilities, being neither a merchant nor a rumor-monger. He can assist in recovering from bad omens, but probably shouldn't be the lead for dealing with religious matters.
